Rev. Jeffrey T. Stevenson serves as the Senior Pastor of Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Huntersville, North Carolina. A native of Little River, South Carolina, Pastor Stevenson is a preacher, teacher, pastor, and leader with a heart for God’s people, a passion for relevant biblical ministry, and a commitment to building a healthy, growing, multigenerational church.
Pastor Stevenson began serving Chapel Hill on the first Sunday in May 2024 and was formally installed as Senior Pastor in September 2024. Since that time, his leadership has focused on strengthening discipleship, developing leaders, revitalizing ministries, expanding opportunities for children, teenagers and young adults, strengthening community engagement, and creating new opportunities for members to connect, serve, and grow. His vision for Chapel Hill is rooted in the church’s mission to Evangelize, Equip, Serve, and Uplift.
Pastor Stevenson earned a Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University and a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Hood Theological Seminary in 2024. Committed to continued growth in pastoral leadership, preaching, and ministry, he is currently pursuing the Doctor of Ministry degree at Hood Theological Seminary.
At the heart of his ministry is a desire to connect the timeless truth of Scripture with the realities of everyday life. His approach to ministry emphasizes relevant and redemptive preaching, intentional discipleship, pastoral care, leadership development, and creating spaces where every generation can experience authentic community and grow in its relationship with God. Beyond his service at Chapel Hill, Pastor Stevenson serves as Treasurer of the United Missionary Baptist Association (UMBA) and remains actively involved in the broader work of the church through teaching, leadership, and service.
In addition to his ministerial calling, Pastor Stevenson brings more than 20 years of professional experience in the financial services industry. His background in financial counseling and coaching allows him to combine biblical stewardship with practical financial wisdom, helping individuals and families pursue financial wellness, stability, and responsible stewardship.
Pastor Stevenson is a recipient of several honors, including the Rev. Dr. William M. White Pastoral Theology Award, the Deacons Family Ministry Scholarship, and the Gregory Keith Moss Sr. Scholarship.
 Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Stevenson enjoys traveling, playing golf, cooking, and spending quality time with his wife, Dr. Mary Stevenson, and their two sons, Isaac and Kobe. His favorite Scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This reflects his belief in God’s ability to bring purpose, hope, and direction even through uncertain seasons.
